Slovak InoBat teaming up with Americans for new battery factory

29 July 2019

The Slovak company InoBat will build a new automobile battery factory in cooperation with the American company Wildcat Discovery Technologies. The two companies signed an agreement agreeing to the project, though according to the Slovak daily Pravda, it’s unclear where the new facility will be built. InoBat co-founder Marian Boček said the deal would make it possible “to build a vertically integrated supply chain, beginning with research and development and ending with production. I believe that this patented technology has the potential to revolutionize batteries for eletric cars across Europe.” Pravda writes that the American company has developed a testing regime that allows scientists to test thousands of new materials for suitability in new types of batteries in an extremely short period of time. The companies are in discussions with the European Investment Bank for potential financing support, as Brussels is concerned about Chinese domination in the electromobility field.
