Slovak investors TMR will renovate the Kristal Hotel in Umag, Croatia

20 January 2021

The Slovak tourist group Tatry mountain resorts (TMR), which operates a number of ski and golf resorts, hotels, ski resorts and theme parks in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Austria, is most likely the new investor in the Kristal hotel in Umag.

At the last public electronic auction of Fina, the offer for the purchase of Kristal, led by the failed company Punta International, of the Zagreb company Tikar d.o.o. in the amount of HRK 22,844,491.25 (approx. EUR 3 million), finally arrived. That company was also the only bidder, and it is the first mortgage lender after it bought Hypo Bank’s old receivables in the amount of EUR 3,35 million in 2016, Croatian “Jutarnji list” writes. And the founders of that Zagreb company are the Tatry mountain resorts group. By the end of 2019, they have invested about EUR 400 million in the development and modernisation of their resorts, and their shares are traded on three European stock exchanges in Bratislava, Prague and Warsaw.

The hotel has eighty rooms, 8670 sqm of usable area, and is located on a building plot of 5566 sqm.
