As it continues with its recruitment of workers for a new plant in Nitra, the automobile manufacturer Jaguar has insisted that it’s managing to attract plenty of applications. But doubts over the ability of Slovakia’s labor force to fill all the new jobs that Jaguar and its suppliers will be needing. In addition, warns aktualne.sk, the company’s existing competitors will also feel the pinch, especially the PSA Peugeot Citroen factory. There are estimates that the country is 100,000 workers short. Human resource experts say that tougher control of people collecting unemployment benefits would help, as would changes to the law on personal bankruptcies, which disincentivize workers from finding new jobs.
