20 October 2016

Schaeffler is looking for a location to build its new manufacturing plant in Eastern Europe. Slovakia is on the list, alongside Poland, Hungary, Romania and Serbia. Schaeffler expects to make a decision soon, according to the company’s director in Slovakia, Jaroslav Patka. The manufacturer already operates two plants in Slovakia in Skalica and Vysocke Nove Mesto as well as a financial service center in Žilina and has 10,000 employees on its payroll. The new plant would be similar in size to its 83,000 sqm plant in Skalice, where Schaeffler employs 4,700 people.
