Slovakia’s foreign trade surplus dropped by €203m y-o-y to €345.8m in April. The figures published by the Slovak statistical office also indicate that the total volume of Slovak exports dropped 3.3 percent y-o-y to €5.4bn. Imports, on the other hand, increased moderately by 0.3 percent to €5.088bn.
For the first four months of 2014, exports were up 3.5 percent y-o-y to €21.5bn, and the import volume totaled €19.888bn, up 4.8 percent compared to the same period last year. The trade surplus totaled €1.6bn, down €188.1m y-o-y.
