Slovenia is considering a complete country lockdown

9 December 2020

Due to the constant increase in the number of newly infected in Slovenia and health workers who, according to numerous reports, are on the verge of endurance, Health Minister Tomaz Gantar proposed the introduction of a temporary measure of complete lockdown and suspension of all non-essential activities.

The Minister of Economy, Zdravko Pocivalsek, is proposing to gradually allow the continuation of business under strict measures. The Minister of Economy believes that the measures so far have not given positive results and announces that he will not support this proposal, but will, in agreement with business people’s associations, propose to reopen all economic entities that have been under restrictive measures so far.
