Slovenia targets 60% reduction in building CO2 emissions by 2030

2 November 2015

The Slovenian government adopted a strategy last week for promoting investments that improve the energy efficiency of buildings. To reach the targets, the government estimates that €6.7bn, to be split between the public and private sectors, will be required by 2030.

The purpose of the strategy is to reduce buildings’ energy consumption by 15 percent by 2020 and 30 percent by 2030 relative to 2005. This would see CO2 emissions attributable to buildings reduced by 60 percent by 2020 and by 70 percent by 2030 compared to their levels in 2030.
