As of April 19, Slovenian social services officials had received applications from 32,000 companies seeking salary support for a total of 262,000 employees. It’s a provisional number, due to potential filing snafus, but it illustrates the depth of concern the country’s private sector over the state of the economy. Under the Emergency Law, employers can only claim reimbursement for salaries of employees who are unable to perform their work due to government-imposed quarantine measures. New cases of COVID-19 have almost disappeared in this country of just 2 million which has just 1,335 confirmed cases in total.
