The Antitrust Agency of Slovenia has approved the State Post Office’s acquisition of Intereuropa’s logistics operations in a transaction worth an estimated €100m. Intereuropa, the largest logistics company in Slovenia, has significant market share beyond its borders in eight other neighboring countries. In all, it employs 1,330 workers, with a fleet of over 100 trucks and 216,000 sqm of warehouse space. The company generated more than €80.6m in revenues for the first half of the year, with profits of €3.1m. However, despite reducing its total indebtedness by €6.3m since the end of last year, it still has €53.9m to pay off. Xpediator was originally interested in taking over the company but retired from the running when the state’s interest in the company became clear.
