Societe Generale to name first Polish head

7 May 2012

The vacancy for the Societe Generale’s top position was announced back in January 2011, but it’s only now that the company has revealed it’s considering Krzysztof Walenczak to fill the spot. The former deputy of Poland’s Treasury, Waleńczak was responsible for 13 of 20 privatizations carried out recently on Poland’s financial market, which brought in PLN 20bn for the state’s budget. The appointment is expected to be announced next week, writes Puls Biznesu. Walenczak would be the first Pole to head the Polish branch of the French giant.
