Sofia has extended its metro network. The new 1.3 km stretch in the southern part of the city went into operation this week and is expected to increase the daily passenger volume to 350,000, writes Focus magazine. The project, which includes the new Vitosha station at the corner of Cherni Vrah Boulevard and Srebarna Street in Sofia’s Hladilnika neighborhood, cost €21m, according to Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
