Solida Capital, an investment firm owned by the Lebanese-Belgian Nesr family and managing the Webcor Group conglomerate, is preparing to enter the Romanian real estate market. The firm has submitted a bid to acquire the Victoria Center office building from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), marking its first foray into Romanian real estate. The transaction is expected to be valued between EUR 30-33 million.
Located on Calea Victoriei, the Victoria Center was completed in the fourth quarter of 2009. The building offers approximately 7,600 sqm of leasable space and includes 96 parking spaces.
Joao Saracho, managing director of Solida Capital, commented, “We have been exploring the Romanian real estate market for some time. This move aligns with our strategy to identify attractive investment opportunities in Bucharest. While we cannot comment on specific investments, we can confirm our active pursuit of opportunities in the office and student housing sectors.”
Founded in Dubai in 2018, Solida Capital expanded its presence by opening an office in Warsaw in 2021. In its first year in the European real estate market, the company invested over EUR 150 million, primarily in office buildings and student housing projects. Solida Capital’s future expansion plans include targeting markets in Bucharest, Prague, and Budapest.
