Some construction companies have increased wages in the pandemic, others have reduced them

Between 1 percent and 38 percent are the percentages of growth that wages in the field of construction materials production experienced during 2020, compared to the previous year, according to a ZF study. However, there are also cases in which the salary level remained constant, without any change last year, but also some in which incomes suffered, falling by up to 18 percent.

Among the responding companies, the paint manufacturer Cemacon registers the highest salary, of over RON 5,000, in the case of the other players the remunerations being between RON 3,000 and RON 4,800.
Companies such as Joris Ide (manufacturer of metal structures), Procema (manufacturer of steel-concrete) or Casa Noastra (carpentry manufacturer) have reduced the salaries offered to employees by 4 percent to 18 percent.
