Sorin Blejnar fired as Fiscal Administration chief

Sorin Blejnar was dismissed from the position of president of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), Romania’s tax authority, after an analysis of the institution’s performance.
In February, Blejnar was placed under investigation by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) for encouraging tax evasion. His name has often been associated in the media with corruption cases. Blejnar position will be took by Serban Pop who served as vice-president of the tax authority during the period from 2004-2008.
