The South Korean state-owned power supplier KEPCO is considering bidding in a new tender for expanding the Temelín nuclear power plant, according to The Korea Times. The Czech power supplier ČEZ will reportedly launch the new tender in 2015.
While ČEZ spokeswoman Barbora Půlpánová told ČTK there are no current plans to launch a tender, the Korean paper writes that the Czech government expects to start accept bids at the beginning of next year. The contract is valued at $10bn (CZK 201.8bn).
KEPCO expects to compete with the US-Japanese consortium of Westinghouse and Toshiba as well as a consortium comprised of Russia’s AtomStroyExport and Czech Škoda.
