Spaniards to advise Poland and CPK on high-speed rail

During the XIII Polish-Spanish Intergovernmental Consultations with the participation of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, an agreement on cooperation at the Central Communication Port (CPK). The main area in which the Spanish side is to help are high-speed railways.

“Spain is one of the world leaders in the field of high-speed rail. Poland wants to learn from this experience,” said the source of the information.

High-speed rail (AVE) has been operating in Spain since 1992. They make up over 1/5 of the entire rail network and reach speeds of up to 300 km / h.

Earlier, the CPK started cooperation in the field of consulting, among others, with Great Britain and South Korea. They also conducts workshops with the SNCF French Railways.

The CPK railway program provides for the construction of a new nationwide passenger transport system based on fast connections. As part of the three stages of the program, by the end of 2034, 1,789 km of new railway lines will be built, including 850 km of new high-speed lines, allowing a maximum speed of up to 250 km / h, and whose geometrical parameters will allow for a subsequent increase in this speed of up to 350 km/h, if necessary.

The Central Communication Port is a planned transfer node between Warsaw and Łódź, which will integrate air, rail and road transport. As part of this project, the Solidarność Airport will be built 37 km west of Warsaw, on an area of ​​approximately 3,000 hectares, which in the first stage will be able to handle 45 million passengers per year. CPK is 100% owned by the State Treasury.
