Spain’s airport network had a record August, with the passenger volume hitting 24 million. Of that total, 17.3 million were international passengers, up 3.9 percent from August 2014. The national passenger volume accounted for 6.59 million, a 7-percent increase from the same month last year. Officials say Spain’s tourism industry received a big boost, as travelers generally avoided vacationing in Turkey, Tunisia and Greece this summer.
