Spanish resi prices down 3.4%

Spanish residential prices fell 3.4 percent y-o-y in August to an average of €1,127 per sqm, according to the General Council of Notaries. Prices are now 40.3 percent below the levels reached at the beginning of the crisis in 2007.

Apartment prices fell 2.3 percent compared to August 2014, while family homes were down 2.2 percent. Mortgage loans for the purchase of a home also increased, by 19 percent y-o-y, in August, with a total of 8,162 new loans.
