SPAR exports of Croatian food jumps 14 percent

22 July 2020

In the first six months of this year, the Croatian food industry exported €48 million worth of food and beverages through the SPAR retail chain. That’s 14 percent more locally produced food being sold to stores in Italy, Hungary, Austria, and Slovenia than in the same period in 2019. The improvement is significant because it was achieved despite difficulties created by the pandemic’s outbreak.

SPAR’s sales to Austria saw growth of 32 percent, the highest growth of any country, while sales to Slovenia rose 16 percent and just 10 percent for Italy. SPAR produced record revenues of €11.1 billion in sales to Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, and Croatia.
