Stage 2 BRAVO alert has been introduced in the provinces of Podkarpackie and Lubelskie

1 March 2022

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki signed the ordinance introducing the second BRAVO alarm level in the provinces Podkarpackie and Lubelskie. The Prime Minister’s decision to introduce an alert level is related to the current dynamic situation in Ukraine and increased traffic on the Polish-Ukrainian border, the Prime Minister’s Chancellery informed.

The BRAVO stage is the second in the four-stage scale of alarm grades. It is introduced in the event of an increased and predictable threat of a terrorist event, but when the specific target of the attack has not been identified.

The alert level is valid until mid-March this year.

Due to the Russian attack in Ukraine and increased traffic on the Polish-Ukrainian border, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki signed an ordinance that introduces the second BRAVO alarm level in the Podkarpackie and Lublin provinces. The decision of the head of the Polish government is preventive in nature, it was announced.

Alert levels and CRP alert levels that relate to threats in cyberspace are introduced, changed and canceled by the President of the Council of Ministers by way of an order. The head of government does it after consulting the minister of internal affairs and administration and the head of the Internal Security Agency. In urgent cases, the alert level may also be introduced by the minister of the interior, after consulting the head of the Internal Security Agency, informing the President of the Council of Ministers about it immediately.
