Starwood buys Urban Centre in Tampa for $143.1m

Starwood Capital Group has picked up two office buildings in Tampa’s Westshore business district for $143.1m. The nine-story towers, totaling 576,000 sq ft, traded for just over $248 per sq ft. Urban Centre’s tenant mix includes American Momentum Bank, Tribridge, Colliers International, the Westshore Grand Hotel, the Centre Club and Shula’s Steakhouse. JLL represented the seller, Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association of America, which bought the towers in 2005 for $105.5m. The deal marks the largest office deal on the Tampa or St. Petersburg markets since December 2015
