Starwood & Resorts is bringing the Sheraton brand to the Romanian market. After signing a franchise contract with the Grand Plaza Hotel (formerly the Howard Johnson Hotel) in Bucharest, Starwood intends to rebrand the property. The 270-room hotel with two restaurants, a bar and a lounge will be reclassified as a five-star Sheraton. Built in 1994, the hotel went through a $30m renovation in 2004.
