Revenues of the Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters (ÚZSVM) fell by six percent year-on-year to CZK 1.39 billion last year. This is the fourth highest income since the establishment of the office in 2002, the ÚZSVM informed today in a press release. At the same time, the office pointed out that it managed to increase revenues by about 53 percent compared to the approved budget. The largest part of the office’s income comes from the sale of unnecessary state real estate.

“Despite the difficult coronavirus period, we managed to sell unnecessary state property last year, especially in electronic auctions, in which the public could buy movable property and real estate from the state safely and from the comfort of their home,” said ÚZSVM CEO Kateřina Arajmu

Revenues from the sale of unnecessary state real estate last year amounted to CZK 861 million. For the sale of land, ÚZSVM received CZK 558 million and revenues from the sale of houses and flats were CZK 303 million. The office collected approximately CZK 262 million for the lease of land and other real estate.

The most significant sales last year include, for example, the sale of two family houses in Prague-Troja for CZK 46 million, the sale of a garden area suitable for housing in the Doubravka district of Pilsen for CZK 39.9 million or the sale of twenty plots of land in Prague Chodov near the Globus hotel, CZK 23.3 million. The new owner was also acquired, for example, by a functionalist villa, known as the “Villa Lumiérů 41”, which is located near the Barrandov studios in Prague and which the ÚZSVM sold at auction for CZK 21.9 million.

At present, the office offers for sale a recreational area in Želiva located on an island next to the famous Premonstratensian monastery for CZK 4.15 million, a former hospital for the long-term sick in Bílovice nad Svitavou for CZK 15 million, land in Prague’s Michle for CZK 12.2 million or the former recreational complex “České srdce” in Morávka for less than CZK 5 million.

In addition to property management, the Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters represents the Czechia in legal disputes concerning state property. The Office acts primarily before courts and arbitration bodies instead of other organizational units of the state. The main source of income of the office consists of sales and leases of land, buildings and structures, as well as funds that fell to the state from the so-called deaths of the dead without heirs.
