Contractors working on the Bucharest-Ploiesti highway are to pay penalties as a result of delivering the project late. The money received by the state from applying fines will be given to the Ministry of Health, said Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
Other infrastructure projects suffering from delays will also be investigated, he announced.
The Bucharest–Ploiesti highway should have opened for traffic on July 7, but the day has been pushed back again, this time for August 1, due to construction flaws which threaten traffic safety.
