Steelcase opens new plant in Stříbro

Steelcase opened a new production plant in the Czech Republic. One of the largest global producers of office furniture, the company is relocating its operations from Germany to Stříbro, located along the D5 motorway near Pilsen. The new plant, developed by Panattoni, cost the manufacturer CZK 600m. Steelcase CEO Jim Keane said that the factory will employ a staff of 150 to start but plans to double the number in the coming months. In the future, the company intends to add 1,000 jobs to the market. The relocation should be completed before the end of the year.
