Strabag to rebuild the runway at Prague’s airport

31 January 2013

Strabag will rebuild a runway at the Václav Havel Airport in Prague. The construction company offered to complete the job for CZK 360m, almost CZK 200m less than the estimated CZK 550m. The lack of opportunities in the construction sector helped lower the price, the airport director, Jiří Pos, told the website e15. The reduced cost will allow Strabag to complete the second and third phase of the project this year. The first phase was completed by Skanska last year. Airport spokesperson Eva Krejčí said that the surrounding municipalities would like to see the reconstruction finished in one go. The runway will be closed from May 15 to September 30 for the reconstruction.
