Karlovarská plynárenská became a new member of the SUAS Group this autumn. SUAS Group has joined it with a 35 percent stake. The companies did not disclose the amount of the transaction. Karlovarská plynárenská is a Czech supplier of natural gas and electricity to customers in the Karlovy Vary region, and can thus link the services offered on the regional market with the activities of a strong partner, SUAS Group announced today.
Karlovy Vary Gas Company has been supplying natural gas and electricity in the region since 2011. “Karlovarská plynárenská’s portfolio is still growing, it has a strong service base. It is also very convenient for customers that the company is based in Jenišov near Karlovy Vary and can be quickly reached in case of need. For this reason, the interconnection makes sense to us and we also agree on future joint development, which will concern the so-called clean energy produced from low-emission sources,” said Pavel Tomek, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SUAS GROUP and Sokolovská uhelná.
“We believe that SUAS GROUP will enable us to offer cheap energy from local sources to domestic customers. The plans and the future that the group represents are in line with the long-term strategy of Karlovarská plynárenská,” Pelíšek said.
According to its accounts, Karlovarská plynárenská had a net turnover of CZK 185.9 million last year, compared with CZK 134.5 million a year earlier. In 2022, the company reported an after-tax profit of nearly CZK 37.1 million, compared with CZK 4.9 million in 2021. The company also intends to offer customers installation of photovoltaic systems.
“We believe that 2024 will be a year of market stabilisation and a calming economy. Karlovarská plynárenská wants to offer safe products and services to its existing and new customers and to help customers with the modernisation and management of their energy facilities. We want to continue to provide and develop benefit services that will help our customers keep their customer sites safe,” Pelíšek added.
