In a contract estimated at CZK 0.5bn, Subterra won a tender to reconstruct a tunnel between the city of Koblenz and the Perl municipality in Germany. This is the Czech construction company’s first project on the German market.
“Germany is another country along with Hungary and Serbia that’s now on our map,” Subterra CEO Ondřej Fuchs told the server e15. Work on the tunnel is set to begin this summer. Subterra is looking for further opportunities in Germany and hopes to one day pull in CZK 1bn annually from projects on foreign markets. The company plans to bid on a construction contract for a railway tunnel in Germany as well as a water treatment plant in Croatia. The company also has plans to expand to Macedonia and Serbia.
