The University Hospital at St. Anne’s in Brno plans to build two buildings for about CZK 1.7 billion in the coming years. In one there will be laboratories, in the other the fields of surgery and orthopedics. The director of the hospital, Vlastimil Vajdák, told the press today. The hospital wants to get part of the money from the state, the European Union and to cover part with its own resources. In addition, it intends to build a new emergency reception for CZK 170 million and an endoscopic center for CZK 40 million. The hospital also bought a building in Hybešová Street for CZK 180 million, where there are 150 parking spaces. He will move the headquarters and administration there.

The headquarters, economic department and personnel department should be moved to the building in Hybešová Street by the end of this year. According to Vajdák, the administration is now in several places in Brno. The building should also have a department of general practitioners, clinical psychology or operational and technical facilities. Parking spaces should primarily serve employees, and patients could also use them. There are over 100 parking spaces in the hospital complex.

Next year, work should begin on a new urgent income for CZK 170 million in the O1 building. “We concentrate emergency care in one place, now patients come to seven different places,” said Vajdák. An endoscopic center for 40 million is planned in the same building on another floor.

In the period up to 2024, building C should be built for CZK 600 million, where there will be laboratory disciplines, microbiology, pathology, and the department of clinical hematology. By 2030, the hospital plans to build Building V for CZK 1.1 billion, where orthopedic and surgical specialties and a pain treatment center will be moved.

The University Hospital at St. Anne’s in Brno has about 3,200 employees. The turnover of the hospital will be around five billion crowns this year. The hospital was one of the most indebted. The state gave her CZK 1.6 billion in debt relief last year, so the hospital has no debts.
