Following the merger of Mohacsi Savings Bank, Pannon Savings Bank and B3 Savings Cooperative, a new commercial bank has started operating in Hungary. Takarekbank has 139 branches across the country, including Budapest. The bank has more than 140,000 retail and 28,000 corporate clients and serves 173 local councils. By the end of October, it will merge with 11 more savings cooperatives as well as Takarek Commercial Bank, formerly FHB Bank, boosting its client base to more than 1 million. It will be the biggest banking network in the country with 750 branches. Takarek Group is currently the fourth biggest banking group in Hungary, with a 6.5-percent market share.
