Viktor Orbán has agreed with Jose Manuel Barroso to begin talks with both the EU and the International Monetary Fund. Orbán promised that Hungarian law will comply with European law, and that his government will modify the disputed Hungarian central bank law according to EU’s demands. As a result, the Commission has said it has no further objections to beginning the talks. Orbán also promised to consider the suggestions of the Venice Commission, regarding the controversial judiciary law.
