Tarom, the national air operator owned by the Romanian state, is discussing a restructuring plan that includes four stages estimated to take place over 25 weeks, through which the number of employees will decrease by 700, from 1,492 in February 2021.
In 2000 Tarom had 2,900 employees, in 2009 – 2,517 employees, and in June 2020 – 1,753 employees. Tarom operated in the middle of last year with 1 manager for 9 employees, and at the beginning of the year it had reached 1 manager for 11 employees. The goal is to reach 1 manager in 16-20 employees, as happens in similar competitive companies.
