Brazilian investors are looking for real estate opportunities in Lisbon thanks to favorable tax conditions, according to Penalva Real Estate. The company registered a 50 percent increase in deal closings for the first quarter of 2016 in which Brazilian investors take advantage of the Non-Habitual Residents regime. Francisco Quintela, partner and co-founder of Quintela and Penalva – Real Estate, says that along with tax advantages, the investors from Brazil are interested in diversifying their portfolios to decrease their risk. He notes that while investors from countries ike France prefer to invest in real estate located in the historic center of Lisbon, Brazilians investors opt for new buildings that offer elevators and garages.
