Downtown traffic was stopped because of a yesterday meeting of taxi drivers. Beginning at 10 a.m. the protesters demanded the authorities put a stop to pirate taxi services. Also, they demanded a return to previous rate structures.
Road traffic was stopped on Libertatii Blvd between Splaiul Independentei and Natiunile Unite Blvd between 10 am and 3 pm, to allow the protest to be carried out.
