Teixeira Duarte wins bridge renovation contract in Brazil

The Portuguese construction company Teixeira Duarte will renovate and repair the Hercílio Luz Bridge in Florianópolis (Brazil) in a €65m contract. The Portuguese company has revealed that the deadline for completion of the project is 30 months for the contract which was signed on March 10 with the State Department of Infrastructure (DEINFRA). The Hercilio Luz Bridge was inaugurated on May 13, 1926 and was initially known as Independence Bridge. The 819 meter span has two 75 meter towers, but it’s been closed since 2006.
