The company Teknia Group from Spain, which produces metal and plastic components for the world’s most famous car brands, has started serial production in a new factory in Kragujevac. It will be exporting parts and assemblies to a dozen different manufacturers of cars, trucks and buses.
In this initial stage, about 60 workers were hired, but the number could double over the next six months. The Spanish company in Serbia has already signed multi-year export contracts with Opel, Fiat and Bosch.
So far, it’s invested more than four million euro in the construction of the factory complex, which covers about 5,500 square meters. Eventually, the factory should employ between 300 to 500 workers.
