The state-owned National Infocommunications Service Company (NISZ) announced a tender for the installation of the Global System for Mobile Communications-Railway (GSM-R) along a 935-kilometer stretch of railway. GSM-R is a requirement for joining the European Rail Traffic Management System, which is an EU-supported initiative for enhancing cross-border interoperability of train control and command systems.
Formerly called Kopint-Datorg, NISZ operates under the National Development Ministry.
