Czech national railway operator SŽDC launched a tender for the reconstruction of the historic Negrelli viaduct in Prague’s Karlín district. The vital part of Prague’s railway system will get a thorough facelift, with costs estimated at CZK 1.2bn. The Negrelli viaduct will be closed for three years, and trains will not be able to pass between the Bubny station in Prague 7-Holešovice and the Masaryk station in Prague 1. Repairing the 1,100 meter Negrelli viaduct is the first phase of the planned high-speed train connection to Prague airport.
