Oil prices have climbed 2 percent on international markets, while natural gas now costs 2.8 percent more than it did before the outbreak of military tension between Ukraine and Russia. Analysts are warning that this will have an impact on the price of Russian oil and gas that passes through Ukraine by pipeline. But itβs unclear how powerful a weapon such sales could be for the Russians. Along with pointing out that additional oil could be delivered from Libya and Iran, analysts suggest that Russia could find it difficult to limit the amount of oil and gas the country sells to the West, since half of its budgetary revenues come from this source.
