Tesco is using the coronavirus crisis to strengthen its online delivery network in regional Slovak cities. Beginning today, the food retailer will offer service in Trenčín, Banskej Bystrici, Poprad and its surroundings. With this expansion, Tesco’s is able to offer its entire online offering to 2 million customers in Slovakia, while to everyone else it’s able to offer a standardized package of grocery essentials. The company’s competitors, including Kaufland, Coop, Terno and Lidl have not rolled out similar services, and Aktuality.sk writes that Yeme recently discontinued its fledgling delivery service that was offered in the Petržalka district of Bratislava.
