According to its preliminary H1 2012 fiscal results, Tesco improved its sales across Poland by 1.4 percent to GBP 36m posted this week. The net profit however dropped 11.6 percent for the company’s Polish operations, coming in at GBP 2.1bn. “We made some strategic changes for the group in the first quarter of the year, focusing on the local market, and we increased our efforts to improve the performance of existing stores. We also invested in our on-line service development, which made it possible for us to establish a leading position on the Polish market,” says Philip Clark, head of Tesco.
