New objections to the construction of a Tesla plant outside Berlin in Grünheide are threatening to shut the project down. The news comes the same week as the Brandenburg environmental agency gave its approval to the factory’s construction. Tesla’s celebrity boss Elon Musk then announced that the company will build a new truck factory somewhere in the “central part of the USA”, but that the final location was still being selected. Production of the Model Y Tesla outside Berlin was supposed to begin next year, so any delays to the start of construction of the factory would threaten that timetable.
