Portugal will be the first European country to have the resort brand The Biggest Loser following the signing of an agreement between the Discovery Fund, which owns the hotel where will stay the resort, and Shine Iberia, owner of the The Biggest Loser in Europe. The project’s name is inspired by the television show of the same name and will be created in what is now the Monte Real – Hotel & Spa in Leiria. The space will require renovation work to allow the equipment to be installed and for adequate space to offer the brand’s weight loss programs, according to the Discovery Fund. It did not disclose the value of the investment, whose goal is to set the bar for centers offering fitness, wellness and nutrition services.
