The first energetically independent city in Romania, by 2030

Sibiu County city Avrig will become the first energetically independent city in Romania, and investment will cost about €50m, Avrig Mayor Arnold G. Klingeis told.

The program will have tow stages.The first stage will include implementing a series of technologies by 2020, meant to ensure alternative energy production, and by 2030, the city will become fully independent.

Avrig city is a small, with 14.000 inhabitants and, in Klingeis’opinion, the program will involve maximum €50m investments.
