The number of insured homes has increased by 3.89%

The number of active compulsory home insurance (PAD) policies increased in May 2021 by 3.89 percent, reaching approximately 1.81 million, compared to 1.74 million active PAD policies on 31 May 2020.

At the end of May, 75.2 percent of the nationally active policies were concluded in urban areas and 24.8 percent in rural areas, and, depending on the type of housing, 94.8 percent of PAD policies target type A housing (with a reinforced structure of reinforced concrete, metal or wood, with exterior walls of stone, burnt brick or materials subjected to heat or chemical treatment) and 5.2 percent dwellings of type B (with external walls of unburned brick or material not subjected to heat or chemical treatment).

By regions, most active policies are in Transylvania, Bucharest and Muntenia, and the fewest in Maramureş and Bucovina.
