The number of flights by private aircraft of the Czech company WAPE JETS increased significantly last year, despite the situation in aviation since the beginning of 2020. This is a 40% increase compared to 2018 and 2019.
Closed borders in spring 2020 due to covid measures de facto stopped air traffic. The aircraft were either grounded or used for so-called repatriation flights, which, however, did not reach such a number in private aviation as if normal operations were maintained. This fact paralyzed not only the operators themselves, but also brokers. The situation began to improve only in May 2020 with the gradual easing of restrictions not only in our country, but in Europe itself. This also corresponds to the statistics, which show that travel was mainly in Europe during this period. However, with the growing number of flights, which was a record for Czech society, new clients are the rarest commodity. “In recent months, we have gained a significant number of new users of private jets, which went hand in hand with our new strategy,” adds PhDr. Zuzana Petáková. The growth of those who changed business class and switched to private jets is still growing. “Clients who have not had experience with this type of travel are pleasantly surprised both by the lightness and speed of the flight and the price, which is many times comparable to a business class per person, but the services are diametrically different, not to mention that you are on on board only with those that you choose, “explains PhDr. Zuzana Petáková.
