DORACO Building Corporation has completed construction work on the modern shooting hall for Polish Television. The symbolic topping out ceremony was attended by representatives of the investor, general contractor and subcontractors. The investment is being built in Warsaw on the premises of the Polish Television headquarters at 17 Woronicza St. According to the assumptions, commissioning of the completed facility, which is being carried out under the “design and build” system, is planned for the first quarter of 2024.
Building Corporation DORACO, acting as general contractor, has symbolically hung the topping out ceremony on the building being constructed on behalf of Polish Television. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the investor, Polish Television, along with the Directors of the Departments supporting the investment, representatives of the Design Offices and the Construction Office, and individuals from the DORACO Building Corporation along with subcontractors.
“The construction of the shooting hall is an extremely interesting project in terms of engineering, fitting perfectly into our competence. One of the challenges is to ensure ideal acoustics in all six shooting modules under construction, where TV production will be carried out. The spaces will ultimately allow for recordings and events with up to 300 people. The implementation of the investment is proceeding according to the agreed schedule. We have already completed construction work and are proceeding with finishing work. The commissioning of the finished facility is planned for the first quarter of 2024.” said Wojciech Bróż, Contract Director, DORACO Construction Corporation.
Construction of the project began in January this year. The facility has already reached its target height and volume. The new shooting hall has five floors above ground and one underground, and will have a total area of about 21,000 sqm.
A total of about 16,000 cubic meters of concrete, which is the volume of almost 6 Olympic-sized swimming pools, and 2,500 tons of steel will be used for the project. Approximately 150 employees of the general contractor and cooperating subcontractors are involved on the construction site every day.
The building will ultimately combine multiple functions. In addition to the possibility of advanced television production, it will also offer a relaxation area with greenery and small architecture to allow users and visitors to relax. It will be complemented by office and social areas with a catering area, as well as an underground garage. In front of the shooting hall building, a representative space will be created for use as a town square, meeting place or additional shooting set.
The square will feature a section of the so-called “red carpet”, which will lead to the main entrance of the photo hall. The space arranged in this way will continue inside the building in the form of a representative red staircase, which will become the hallmark of the building. An unprecedented solution will also be a multimedia audiovisual projection system. The event area of the hall and the catering area will be served by a DALI system integrated with the BMS. On the top floor, within the common areas, there will be a terrace that can also serve as an outdoor studio. The rest of the roof will be the so-called green roofs.
