Construction of the Eco Zone Koricani-Vlasic, located in the Central Bosnia region, will begin this spring. A group of over 30 investors are contributing over €3bn for the project.
One component of the Eco Zone is a set of new luxury villas, as well as a rehabilitation clinic, an artificial lake, aquapark, educational center, apartment buildings and office buildings. An airport would be located about 3 kilometers away from the Eco Zone. The complex also includes the construction of an indoor and outdoor stadium, an Olympic swimming pool, and other facilities required by sports teams.
Matosevic, director of the Tourist Association for Central Bosnia, said the goal was to drive growth in the numbers of visitors to the region. He said private sector investments focusing on tourist-focused facilities and products had already begun to improve the region’s offering.
