In Q1 2016, the number of visitors and overnight stays in Bratislava increased by 25 percent y-o-y, according to chairman of the Bratislava Tourist Board Alžbeta Melicharová who was speaking with ta3. In 2015, the city overcame the 1 million visitor mark for the first time ever, with the number of overnight stays rising to 2,200,000. The average length of stay is three days, with the majority of visitor coming from the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, the UK, Italy, Poland, the US, China, Spain and Hungary.
