Tourist numbers on the rise in Hungary

The number of tourists visiting Hungary has been steadily going up over the best five years, with the volume increasing by 29 percent between 2010 and 2014, according to Péter Faragó, the head of Hungarian Tourism Ltd. In the first half of 2015, the country’s tourist volume was up 17.5 percent, which was four times the global average, said Faragó. Between January and October, tourists spent around 6.7 million nights in Budapest alone, up 8.8 percent from the previous year.
